What is a Short Term Plan?
For unforeseeable moments in life, short-term health insurance plans can provide you with affordable coverage. Short-term plans can cover you for up to 12 months, no matter if you’re waiting to land your next job, awaiting open enrollment, or simply unable to afford other healthcare plans. At a fraction of the cost of other healthcare plans, same-day protection gives you peace of mind.

National General Supplemental Insurance
An additional health plan is designed to be added to a standard-issue short-term medical policy from National General. Using such a plan you can pay for services that are not covered by your short-term health insurance, such as critical illnesses, accidents, hospitalization, and accidental death. Unlike the short-term plans, National General’s supplemental coverage does not utilize the same PPO network; you are free to choose any provider.
What’s Your Health Worth?
We know that paying too much for health insurance is never ideal. You want to combine affordability with coverage, so we have a plan to match your needs. When you call, we’ll discuss your needs and your budget, then connect you with the right health insurance plan to suit your ever-changing health needs.
Short-term National General Health Insurance also known as National General Supplemental Insurance
The health insurance policy sold by National General is a short-term plan that covers a limited number of health services. During open enrollment, these plans are not sold on the health insurance exchanges. You can also purchase short-term health insurance plans at any time if your state allows them, but these plans don’t provide the same level of health care coverage as long-term plans.
Short-term plans offered by National General only include some essential benefits, including doctor visits, preventive care, hospital care, ambulance coverage, and surgery. It would not cover normal pregnancy, prescription medications, or preexisting conditions. Therefore, short-term policies make the most sense if you are healthy and looking for temporary coverage. Purchasing a short-term plan to bridge health insurance coverage would be beneficial if you lost your employer’s health insurance coverage due to a job change.
National General offers two different kinds of short-term health insurance: Standard Issue and Guaranteed Issue. These plans offer coverage ranging from 30 days to 12 months and use Aetna’s Open Choice PPO network.
Which Short-Term Health Insurance Company Is Best for You?
As soon as you have selected a short-term health insurance provider, the next step will be to ask for a health insurance quote. You will be asked to provide information about yourself, such as your name, address, and social security number, if you ultimately decide to purchase the policy after receiving a quote. Short-term insurance companies typically allow customers to pay for policies via the internet. This means that you can manage your policy online and make any necessary changes without having to go to an office.
When you apply for a short-term policy, you will receive a card and information about your health insurance. Depending on the terms of your policy, some services may be covered as soon as the next day, while others may not be covered for several months. Short-term health insurance is only meant to serve as a temporary stop-gap; there are cheaper plans available in the marketplace during open enrollment.
